VFW Magazine Covers
Spanning a period of seven years, these beautifully illustrated VFW magazine covers tell many stories.
Beginning in January of 1955 with a depiction of a young Korean War veteran caught in the act of some misdeed by his shocked wife, and ending with a rowdy hootenany at a veteran's hospital New Year's eve party, on the January, 1962 issue, this random sampling of issues gives us an incredibly fascinating look at life in the hey day of the organization of the US Veterans of Foreign Wars.
These treasures from the past are on temporary loan to Mike Dust from Mr. Mitchell Vars. He says the back and inside covers are really interesting too, and they are. A lot of advertisements for liquor, cigarettes, giant German binoculars, and good land deals in Florida. Perhaps, they will make their way into a future Fascinatum.
