The Beautiful Season
Many, many, many years ago - just yesterday, in fact - the firm light of a bright, new star guided three wise and kindly men through another and faraway desert seeking a newborn in a simple manger. Since then, through the placid and turbulent centuries, during this season the stars shine with greater warmth, greetings between friends are more friendly, man is more considerate and thoughtful of the needs and afflictions of man.
During this season we think not only of ourselves. More so than at any other time of the year those of well-being think of others, the selfish are less selfish, the miser less a miser. Our loved ones, near and far, are closer to us than before, the blessings we enjoy and our happiness we wish to share with those less favored.
The light that illuminated the newborn in that simple manger so many, many, many years ago shines more brightly today. The centuries proclaim the wisdom of His message of peace on earth and human righteousness and decency.
Let the bells ring out the message of the season. Never do bells sound so inspiring. Let voices be raised in the season's songs, the grandest songs ever sung on earth.
This is Yule. The is the Beautiful Season.
