It is a beautiful day, most definitely spring, and the river is awful high, seeing how it is definitely spring and all, but that doesn't stop ol' Huckleberry Duster - thumbnailHuckleberry Duster from heading out on an adventure up the mighty, mighty Mississip'.

You can guess, with the water a bit high, that the current's running pretty good, and it is, and with Weasel Island as my destination, I'm forced to work pretty hard and keep close to shore just to make good headway up river. Once on the island, you see it's only about half it's usual size with only the fewest of feathered inhabitants at present. All this will change over the next few months, as the water should begin to drop and more and more geese and ducks will take over the shores, and maybe even a few weasels?

All in all, I like to think Mark Twain would be smiling, for it's just great to be back out on the river, piloting a watercraft, getting a little sun, enjoying the sights and sounds along the way, and mostly enjoying a little bit of the Huck Finn in ol' Mike Dust.
