Vol. 2 - August - No. 40
Take a little walk. Stop. Look down. There is a world beneath your feet. It is a complicated network of concrete panels and pieces we call, the sidewalk. The roadmap of dividing lines between these panels, that provide pedestrian passageway is extremely vast. And to this, even more limitless, is the constant and continuous deterioration of these walkways, the natural cracks, and crevices that are both unpredictable and unimaginable in scope and scale. Together, these intentional lines of division, and these spontaneous eruptions of form, create an infinite number of miniature intersections, each a minor miracle and mishap of man's attempts at order, and each a testament to the random powers of nature.
Here is a small, and incomplete, exhibition of examples of small sidewalk intersections common to all cities.
