...the ongoing effort to present the entirety of the world's knowledge in one central location, one subject matter at a time. From the controversies of the Battle of Bull Run to the inside scoop on Spizerinctum Clubs, you will find in Fascinatum what seems, at first glance, to be an arbitrarily accumulated body of facts, truths, and principles. But look a bit further. We think you'll find, in both the obscurity of Sidewalk Intersections or the practical realities of Thinking About Motion Pictures, the matters of Fascinatum are indeed at the very foundation of the vital and informed existence we strive for. An invitation to participate. - "Travelers wanted for distant voyage. Excellent opportunity for all persons. Age no obstacle. No special training required, but the voyage is one that lasts an entire lifetime, and the travelers must often fight sleep and toil late into the night.
In return, travelers will learn to travel in time and space. They will voyage the seven continents and the seven seas, and live in the valleys where civilizations were born. They will witness the discovery of fire. They will come to know the beauties of the forest and the glories of islands in the sunlight. They will see through eyes other than their own, and hear through others ears. They will visit ancient tombs and palaces and walk beneath the sea. They will confer with kings and presidents, artists and philosophers, and feel their wisdom feed their own.
Travelers will journey into a drop of water, and into the heart of the earth, beyond the moon, and beyond the stars, plunging to the very rim of all of man's knowledge. They will hear the witching tales of travelers who have gone before them, and blaze a trail for all those who follow. They will question much, and come to understand even more. And they will never be the same.
If you are up to this kind of challenge, accept it now. For it is your distant voyage to take any time, here in the pages of Mike Dust Fascinatum..."
