Named to All Rookie 2nd team in ABA last year…considered by many most improved player in league from start of last season…very aggressive…broke backboard in his 1st practice with Spirits, later decked Artis Gilmore in regular season game…but very mild-mannered off court…considered a forward until he was tried at center when Barnes left squad briefly last season…remained at center as a member of Spirits rookie front line…called an "unreal talent" by Marquette coach Al McGuire…high school All American and led team to state title with 27.5 points and 24.3 rebounds a game…had record 28.6 points, 16.8 rebounds a game as Marquette freshman…led Warriors to NCAA runnerup to North Carolina State in 1974 as Marquette's MVP…broadcasting major in college with taped pre-game basketball show and disc jockey show…a vegetarian since his sophomore year in college…"I got so mean from eating soy oatmeal"…carries vitamins, fruit, tuna, peanuts, etc. on road with him…practiced vs. Jabbar in Milwaukee - "I got my jumps and he got his dunks"…keeps a lot of plants because "they're good for the air"…played a little football in high school…was the 3rd fastest swimmer in Pennsylvania at 50 meters at YMCA level.
