Drafted Round No. 3 by Utah Stars in 1974. Purchased along with Randy Denton, Ron Boone, and Steve Green from Utah in Dec., 1975.

Personal notes:
First player in modern times to jump directly from high school to the pros…sought after by more than 300 colleges but signed pro with Utah Stars…named to ABA All-Rookie team after averaging 18.8 points and 14.8 rebounds per outing…only rookie selected to 1975 Western All Star squad…compared with Chamberlain and Jabbar at similar stages in career…averaged 39 points, 26 rebounds and 12 blocked shots a game in leading Petersburg, Va. high school to two state championships…exceptional quickness for big man…can play either forward or center…broke leg in training camp…didn't play until January 15th with Spirits…scored 19 points off the bench in season debut.
